Mr. French currently serves as Managing Director of GOLDBEAR CAPITAL CORP., which is a boutique merger and acquisition firm focused on helping owners of small to medium sized businesses develop profitable exit strategies, as well as assisting growing companies to raise capital through private placements and public offerings utilizing his own experience in running a public company for a number of years. At FOUNDATION MARKETS, a Toronto-based Investment Bank and Limited market dealer, he has successfully raised private capital for start-up mining companies such as QUIA RESOURCES in Columbia and ALPACA RESOURCES in Arizona. Previously, he founded IT STAFFING & THINKPATH ENGINEERING SERVICES, INC., and developed it from start up to $45 million in revenue in 5 years. While running THINKPATH, he completed an Initial Public Offering (IPO) on NASDAQ and personally raised $30 million in capital through PIPE's. THINKPATH is a leader in customized engineering solutions providing its clients with a wide-range of support services guaranteeing timely, efficient and cost effective completion of projects in numerous and varied industries including aerospace and defence. Prior experience includes President and CEO of TORONTO EXECUTIVE CONSULTANTS, a national executive search and placement company with $10MM in sales, TEC PARTNERS LTD., a human resource management company, TOREX COMPUTERS and EURO TERMINALS LTD., a manufacturer of emulator terminals for mainframe systems.
A former Senior Manager, Fran Manns is a dual Canadian and US citizen with 14 years of experience in the Compliance and Disclosure department of the Toronto Stock Exchange. He has had a 40 year career in the exploration industry in Canada as a GEOLOGIST in exploration for Gold and Lead, Zinc and ranging from the Queen Elizabeth Islands to Newfoundland to Alaska with particular experience in the Canadian Shield, and the Canadian Rockies. Fran was CEO of an exploration team in Indonesia, spent time as a mining analyst for a brokerage firm specialized in small cap equities, and as a consultant to the mining industry having experience in resource audits and nugget effect issues. With the TORONTO STOCK EXCHANGE, Fran was responsible for Technical Due Diligence with respect to the original listing requirements for mining Companies and Technical and Scientific Compliance with TSX timely disclosure policy. Fran earned a Ph.D. in GEOSCIENCE from the UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO and an M.A. and B.A. in GEOLOGY from TEMPLE UNIVERSITY in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His particular area of research has been the study of the strati-graphic aspects of carbonate hosted lead zinc deposits often termed Mississippi Valley ‘type’ deposits and he has published on gold resource estimation and the nugget effect in gold deposits.
Mr. Sutherland is currently the President and Chairman of ASEAN MINING CORPORTAION, a Canadian mining company he co-founded and focused on exploration throughout Southeast Asia. He is also the Chairman of TALISKER GOLD CORPORTATION, and has been a past board member of GREENOCK RESOURCES LTD. Mr. Sutherland was originally a senior banking executive in Asia focused in the Orient and Mainland China. This international exposure has given Mr. Sutherland a unique perspective of embracing opportunities regionally as well as globally. He is also very actively working and giving of his time with boards of not-for-profit and charitable causes.
Gerry O’Connora is a seasoned business Executive/Consultant with a significant record of accomplishment in diverse businesses and corporate functions including Human Resources and Labour Relations, Group Pensions and Benefits, Business Development, Business Integration, Project and Operations Management, Acquisitions and Divestitures and related financial and legal protocols, Corporate Planning, and e-Business Development. Having taken early retirement from SUN LIFE FINANCIAL, he founded his own consulting company, a sole proprietorship known as BLACKROCK CORPORATE SERVICES. His company offers a broad range of corporate pensions and investment services to its clients. BLACKROCK CORPORATE SERVICES's main clients are TORSTAR CORPORATION and THE TORONTO STAR. As a member of CESO (Canadian Executive Service Organization), Gerry completed more than 20 consulting assignments as a Government of Canada-funded overseas aid volunteer in the Philippines; Russia; Republic of Georgia; and Serbia.
